Baby Goat Cuddling and Wine Tour

This tour is for the guest looking to spend some quality time with our goat herd and the newborn babies. You will see, pet and cuddle with our herd of Nigerian and African Pygmy Goats. Each January until early spring our barn walls are popping with baby goats. Some mothers have three or more babies when the ‘kid’. These tiny bundles of joy are born instant acrobats and are so much fun to watch. The tour will last approximately 60 minutes. While not part of the tour, on your drive around our property you may also see alpacas, saanen goats, zebras, camels and more.

Is It Rain Or Shine? If it is raining, the Baby Goat Experience takes place inside the barn. The barn is not climate controlled, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

What Should You Wear?

It’s important to dress fashionable for the goats. Not. Wear clothes that can get dirty. You’ll be in the pen with the baby goats, and they’ll be climbing all over you. The goats are pretty clean, but sometimes you will get dirt on your clothes.

Closed-toed shoes. Baby goats stepping on your bare toes hurts. Avoid that by wearing something other than flip-flops or sandals.

Hair ties, a hat, or a hoodie. If you have long hair, you need to be warned – baby goats love chewing on long hair. While it doesn’t usually damage your hair, it can get obnoxious. Putting it up in a bun solves most of your problems.

As few strings or tassels as possible. The goats love to nibble and nothing is more enticing than tassels, strings, and long shoelaces.

Other Details

Don’t forget to bring a camera! We love seeing your pictures. If you share them, please remember to use hashtag #GrapetownVineyard so we will be sure to see them.

No food, pets, or animals are permitted in the barn and baby goat pen. If you have a service dog, please contact us for more information.

Strollers are not allowed in the baby goat pen.

Adults must sign farm liability waiver forms for themselves and accompanied children.

Please ask in advance about large groups, school groups, or wheelchair accessibility.

Jacks Chophouse

Really enjoyed my meal last night at Jack’s Chophouse! Theresa took care of my table and had awesome recommendations for food and drinks. The bone marrow was some of the best I have ever had. Our ribeye was cooked to perfection and the candied Brussel sprouts lived up to the hype. Will be back soon to try happy hour!

Grapetown Vineyard

The Grapetown Vineyard is one of the coolest places in South Texas. The safari tour itself is worth the price of admission, and the wines they offer are exquisite. We’ve been to several events that were absolutely incredible.
