We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The place was full but we were still seated quickly, and our food came out quickly as well. The fried ravioli appetizer was delicious and we loved our entrees. Bread was so good and clearly baked in-house. That was a top notch dinner with excellent service, and I would absolutely recommend it.
First time lunch was a real wow! Big flavors. Quality ingredients. Fast service. There’s a reason it’s always busy for lunch!
This restaurant is Top Notch! The food & service were Nothing less than Excellent. We ordered The Toasted Honey Ahi Tuna Steak Salad, Oysters, Drinks and it was all great. The restaurant was busy but even when our waiter was busy it never stood in the way of us getting Excellent service. Cody, Sterling & Bryce were all eager to wait on us. They seem happy to help one another. We highly recommend this establishment.
What a wonderful dining experience… Walk thru the front door and it feels like you walked thru a time warp. The ambiance is of an upscale chophouse from the 50’s or 60’s with a stunning bar.
The food is absolutely top notch, the appetizers delicious and the steaks prepared to absolute perfection. We had the Wedge Salad, Brussel Sprouts, & Dry Aged Porterhouse. The porterhouse, my wife and I shared and still took home half of the steak. If you’re too full for dessert order ‘The Kitchen Sink’ anyway – we were and, well, you can see what my wife and I couldn’t eat.
How fortunate we are to have a restaurant of this caliber in Fredericksburg. And how fortunate was I to enjoy an evening there. I had family in town from Houston, and had just heard about Jack’s, so we decided to give the new place a try. The restaurant is housed in an old house, on the west end of Main Street. The mood inside is a step back in time. Black and white photos of famous and infamous line the walls. We did not have a reservation (which I highly recommend to do so), but sitting in the cozy, plush “parlor” sipping “The Monroe”, wait time was not an issue. The food was excellent, the cocktails…spot on, (My Houstonian cousin raved that the Old Fashion was the best he’d ever had.) and the staff, superb. The real star in Jack’s is, without a doubt, James Smith. James is the Manager and Mixology extraordinaire. James is the most personable guy of the Fredericksburg restaurant scene…the perfect combination of personable and professional. I look forward to wowing more guests with Jack’s Chophouse and Jame’s charm and cocktails.
Amazing atmosphere l, would definitely recommend. However a few things to help work out some of the kinks the butter is too hard but delicious also a little less oil on the steaks maybe some butter. Even if these changes didn’t occur I would still eat there again.
Best burger around in our opinion! The menu is well laid out and thoughtful to meet most tastes (and budgets). They also have a full bar which is great and tasty house cocktails. Great Ribs, Pulled Pork Nachos, amazing steaks and more! Live music every day and cowboy church on Sundays! Bankersmith Texas (just 8 miles from downtown) is more than just a ghost town. This hidden gem is a beloved restaurant in Fredericksburg, Texas that serves snow crab, fresh pork ribs, burgers, steaks and yep, even calf fries. Founded in 1908, this no-frills establishment with down-home food quickly is the go to for a great meal off the beaten path.
