Safari Wine Tours

A truly unique experience. Come and visit Grapetown Vineyard and Farm in Fredericksburg Texas and get a behind the scenes look at the complex operations and interactions of a working farm and animal sanctuary! Enjoy great wines, beer and even cocktails at Grapetown Vineyard before and after your tour. Remember, this is a working ranch deep in the Texas Outback. Dress appropriately and apply caution as you enter the property. Drive slowly on property and stay in your vehicle until you are parked at the Grapetown Tasting Room. Loose livestock roam the property. The tour starts at the Tasting Room of Grapetown Vineyard and is across the street from the Historic Bankersmith Dance Hall and Saloon.

Grapetown Vineyard

The Grapetown Vineyard is one of the coolest places in South Texas. The safari tour itself is worth the price of admission, and the wines they offer are exquisite. We’ve been to several events that were absolutely incredible.

The Stable Cocktail Bar

What an amazing little place. Visiting from California and stopped in for a few drinks and a small bite. Drinks are delicious and the food, we had the pretzel and margarita pizza.. yum!!! Thomas made the drinks and food and he’s the absolute best! Such a great experience and would highly recommend!

The Stable

Really nice place. A small bar could make it hard to find a table, but we we’re lucky and got a seat at the bar. No draft beer, but an extensive craft cocktails, bottled beer and wine made up for it. We had the small meat board which was a perfect appetizer for 2. It included 3 meats, 3 cheeses, picked veggies, grapes, crackers and 3 differ jellies.

Jack’s Chophouse

Jack’s Chophouse is hands down the best steakhouse I have ever eaten at. The overall atmosphere is elegant yet has a feeling of comfort and welcoming. The entire staff the manager to the head chef came by our table to check on us. I highly recommend the oysters best you will find anywhere in the south!

The owner Mr. Ball is an exceptional host providing a real touch of class to the dining experience. He every staff member in the establishment were courtesy greeting us and providing service with a smile.

Jack’s Chophouse will forever be a stop anytime I am in Texas. It was worth the drive from Killeen and will be worth the flight from NC for my next visit. You’ll not find a better Tomahawk Steak or a better dining experience anywhere!

Jack’s Chophouse

On a recent trip to Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) and venturing down to Fredericksburg, TX, I was recommended Jack’s Chophouse as a dinner destination. What a recommendation that turned out to be! A cozy and inviting atmosphere and likely the best steak and oysters I’ve ever had. To be fair, I don’t consider myself a foodie, but this was easily recognizable as the pinnacle of my dining experiences. The establishment was clean and neat and the staff were friendly and professional. With dinner, I ordered one of Jack’s signature drinks, the Churchill, and just like the meal the drink was first class. The bar and drink selection rivals anything I’ve seen and the bar area was filled with people relaxing, laughing, and socializing. If you’re in the area, give Jack’s Chophouse a look. It’ll provide you with a familiar neighborhood feel with a five star experience. I look forward to getting back there in the near future. Do yourselves a favor and go!

Martinis

y wife and I visiting Fredericksburg last weekend, after just having had a drink at the worst place in Fredericksburg, decided to go for some seafood. It was a 30 minute wait, and we were seated at the bar. But let’s be honest, the best spot in a great seafood restaurant, not on the coast, is at the bar. We were greeted by probably the best bartender/server we have ever had. Forgive me as I cannot remember his name, but super nice guy with tats on his arms, made the best Bloody Mary ever. We had oysters, snow crab legs and the calamari. My wife and I will definitely be returning on our next visit. That was the absolute best experience of our trip!

Service and vibe were really great. The lobster and corn on the cob were a bit too buttery for me. I would’ve liked it better if butter was offered on the side. Overall nice experience.
